Building on the skills mastered in Module 1, Module 2 of the Golden Hour Diagnostics program focuses on advancing your diagnostic techniques by developing structured, technician-devised diagnostic process routines. This course introduces a scientific approach to fault-finding ensuring your methods are logical, repeatable, and effective across a wide range of vehicle problems.
This module emphasizes not only the practical application of diagnostic tools but also the importance of systematic thinking, thorough documentation, and sound decision-making.
Through a combination of classroom coaching and intensive hands-on practice, you will refine your ability to analyze faults, plan and execute test routines, and evaluate results accurately.

The Diagnostics in the Golden Hour route will show you techniques, principles and processes to ensure that you profit from diagnostics. This route will take you through our unique approach to fault finding required to be successful in diagnostics.
Developing Diagnostic Process Routines is Module 2 of 3. We’ve designed this route to be completed sequentially, so you can build your skills in a logical way that will best enhance your diagnostic performance.

The practical aspects of vehicle diagnostics is key and we will work through several faulty vehicles during each module. We will focus on critical thinking and analysis skills, diagnostic strategies supporting symptom analysis, diagnostic processes, component test and measurement, appropriate diagnostic tool selection, reliable sources of technical data, access to and use of dealer level diagnostics.
We will help build your skills, knowledge and experience and give you several important ‘take-aways’ from the course, including some awesome analysis tools & techniques. These will be used during the course and can be refined further upon your return to work.

A brilliant course, having attended many courses at Technical Topics, the 4 rights and the Core Diagnostic Process are not new concepts to myself, with this course it goes into fine detail of these principles and the fantastic benefits of using James’ ruthless logic, and The Core Diagnostic Process, a process in which is a series of ordered tests to determine what is correct with the vehicle (at some point, driven by logic, correctly ordered testing and data to support decisions) where you will arrive at the correct cause of the fault. The course also highlights personal misconceptions and areas of personal development which l urgently require to address.
