Course content
Eeprom coding and programming training will give you an in-depth insight into the art and science of this very interesting subject.
The course will have you opening ECU’s, soldering and desoldering chips, removing a variety chips, reading chips in reading devices, BDM/JTAG reading, unscrambling encrypted data, extracting pin codes, cloning ECU’s, programming virgin BIN files and much more.
This is a great course to expand your understanding of this really hot topic.
What you'll learn
- Eeproms – id, form, function, read, erase and programming.
- Desolder and resolder techniques and practice
- Practical application.
- Decoding and pin extraction.
- Hacking, editing, virginising and cloning.
- Binary, decimal and hexadecimal.
- Required hardware, hint’s and tips.
- MCUs & eeproms.
- Protected sectors and incremental only chips.
- Checksums
- Practical on-bench and on-car ‘eepromming’ examples.
Your Diagnostic Performance
Eeprom Coding & Programming encompasses skills we first encountered when repairing an injector driver transistor inside a Bosch EDC 16 Engine Computer. As time went on we became involved with replacing various vehicle computers by cloning the information and, in some cases, making test computers free running (with the immobiliser removed).
This led us to develop our skills, knowledge and understanding of this aspect of vehicle diagnostics and repair. We also discovered some great techniques for the tricky aspect of removing and refitting electronic components and, through trial and error, discovered which type of equipment is required to start-up in the art of ‘Eepromming’. We have sourced a knowledge base which will provide you with the information you need to know such as make, model, ecu, eeprom type, virgin files, pin decoding information and much more besides. During the training, we will share all of this information with you.
At the end of the session we will also cover the process of coding/programming and replacing an ECU, the ‘main dealer’ way, covering OEM portals, OEM interfaces and Passthru.
Come on this course and demystify the very dark art of eeprom, coding and programming.
