Description
For Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) testing. This kit gives technicians the ability to identify and diagnose unwanted vibration and noise sources in a vehicle.
The PicoDiagnostics NVH kits from Pico Technology are the cost-effective answer to the many NVH problems facing technicians today. The software provides a real-time diagnosis to the technician, in the form of either: a bar graph, a frequency chart, a 3D frequency chart, RPM order, road speed view or a time domain view.
The ability to start the recording before a road test and playback and analyze the recording back in the shop, ensures that the driver’s attention remains on the road.
Typical Uses:
- Cabin vibrations at speed
- Engine vibrations throughout the entire RPM range
- Clutch judder or vibration
- Transmission and bearing whine
- Auxiliary drive noise
- Brake judder
- Steering vibrations
Frequently Asked Questions
What is NVH diagnostics?
NVH stands for Noise, Vibration, and Harshness. NVH diagnostics uses accelerometers connected to your PicoScope to measure vibrations from engine, drivetrain, suspension, and body components. PicoScope 7 software analyses the frequency spectrum to pinpoint the source of unwanted noises and vibrations. See NVH guided tests on picoauto.com.
What’s the difference between the standard and starter NVH kits?
The NVH standard kit includes a larger set of accelerometers and mounting accessories for more comprehensive vibration analysis. The NVH starter kit provides the essentials at a lower entry point. Both use the same PicoScope 7 NVH software.
Which PicoScope kit includes NVH?
The master kit includes NVH diagnostic equipment. For all other kits, the NVH standard or starter kit can be purchased as a separate add-on.
