Spring Piercing Clips – set of two

£42.00

These spring piercing clips allow non-invasive wire testing for automotive electrical diagnostics with PicoScope.

The Spring Insulation Piercing Test Clip set is ideally suited for automotive test and diagnosis.

The piercing clips allow the user to provide the exact pressure needed to pierce the insulation of a wide range of wire types and sizes.

The clips also feature a rotating banana jack that prevents the test lead from twisting and keeps the oscilloscope in the circuit while the wire is pierced, providing immediate confirmation that contact with the conductor has been made

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between spring piercing clips and standard piercing clips?

Spring piercing clips use a spring-loaded mechanism to pierce wire insulation and maintain a secure connection during testing. Standard piercing clips require manual pressure. Both provide non-invasive access to wire signals without cutting or stripping insulation.

Will they damage the wire insulation?

The piercing point creates a very small puncture that self-seals when the clip is removed. This is an accepted and widely-used technique for automotive diagnostics where disconnecting connectors would alter the circuit behaviour. For connector-level access without piercing, use the back-pinning probe set.
