Course content
A great Service Advisor does far more than answer the phone and book vehicles into the workshop. They control the flow of work throughout the day, communicate effectively with customers and technicians, influence the decisions people make and help keep the business running smoothly.
We don’t just teach Service Advisors how to answer phones. We teach them how to run the front of your business.
Over two practical days, we’ll show your Service Advisor the systems, processes and skills needed to take ownership of your front of house. They’ll learn how to stay in control when the day gets busy, communicate with confidence, improve workflow, understand the numbers that drive profitability and deliver a level of customer service that keeps people coming back.
The result is a front of house that runs more consistently, a workshop that operates more efficiently and a business that relies less on you to solve every problem. That gives you the confidence to step back from the day-to-day operation and spend more time working on your business instead of constantly working in it.
What you'll learn
- Keep control when the diary is full and the phones won’t stop ringing.
- Stop busy days from turning into stressful, reactive days.
- Improve communication between customers, technicians and management.
- Handle complaints professionally and protect your reputation.
- Explain value with confidence instead of competing on price.
- Improve profitability by making better commercial decisions.
- Deliver a customer experience that encourages loyalty and attracts the right customers.
- Give the business owner confidence to step away from the front desk, knowing the business is in capable hands.
Service Advisor Progression
This is Step 2 in our Service Advisor progression route.
Recommended order: The Road to Technical → The Highly Effective Service Advisor.
If you’ve completed RTT, HESA builds on that foundation to help you sharpen performance at the front desk—improving structure, communication, consistency and results. You don’t need to do both courses if you’re already technically confident; in that case, you can start here as your first step.
After the course, you’ll have a 1:1 follow‑up call with the course leader to review your progress since the training and set tailored goals for what to focus on next.
